Kilohana Pavillion

Loc. in: Lihue, HI

What would Hawaii be without hula? At Luau Kalamaku we give you hula, poi and so so much more.

Luau Kalamaku is Kauai's only theatrical luau. In addition to wonderful food, you are treated to a full scale theater experience unlike any other.

Hula dancers, fire poi ball twirlers, traditional Polynesian fire knife dancing and a vivid story line all combine for an unforgettable evening.

The evening starts with a dramatic torch lighting and then on to the imu ceremony where your main course is unearthed from our traditional underground imu (oven).

Then it's time for live Tahitian music, Hawaiian games, and hula dancing, of course! Our music is so authentic that even the drums are made by hand by the musicians themselves.

After fun and games outside in the elegant tropical garden you enter the theater. Here our state of the art media system and interactive stage design transport you to ancient Polynesia.

The storyteller relates to you the tale of the voyage of the first Hawaiian from their homeland of Tahiti to the Hawaiian islands. It is a tale of much hardship, drama and finally triumph.

All of this and ono (delicious) luau food too—there is just nothing else like Luau Kalamaku!
