The Warehouse Project

Loc. in: Manchester, UK

It began operations in the disused Boddingtons Brewery in Strangeways, and has since moved into a space under Piccadilly railway station, which previously served as an air raid shelter. This space is now used as an underground car park which is transformed into the Warehouse Project venue for each event. Recent developments have put the future of the venue in jeopardy as local firms look to build hotels on the site, but since the recession many of these plans have been put on hold, allowing a further season at the Store Street venue in 2010-11.On 14 July 2011, The Warehouse Project announced that the 2011 season would be the last ever WHP event at Store Street.

The season will end in the early hours of 2 January 2012.[3] Following this on 22 March 2012, The Warehouse Project announced the location for the 2012 season, including two special events over the Easter Weekend. The new location is situated to the west of the city centre in Trafford Park, near Old Trafford football stadium.

Since its foundation the club has played host to numerous internationally acclaimed DJs such as Sven Väth, Aphex Twin, Pete Tong and Erick Morillo, and musicians such as De La Soul, Happy Mondays, Jamiroquai and Dizzee Rascal.[5] In 2007, The Warehouse Project was voted by dance music magazine Mixmag as the best club in the UK.
